Bertoldshofen Tunnel

The B 472 bypass will be implemented to relieve traffic in Bertoldshofen. The heart of this bypass is the 594 m long two-way traffic tunnel (RQ 11 t). In the south, an approximately 90 m long back-anchored bored pile wall is required due to the grinding cut in the pre-cut area. In order to connect the new road axis to the old B 472, a very narrow radius of only 255 m is required. To enable the necessary stopping sight in this area, the tunnel must be widened. This expansion cross-section is converted into the standard cross-section with an end wall after approximately 65 m.

The emergency exit was planned centrally in the middle of the tunnel with a combined solution of rescue tunnel and operating technology rooms and becomes a pure emergency exit after 16 m. On the north side of the tunnel, a half-sided backfilled building is planned. The special feature here is that the tunnel structure and the operations building are connected with a curved angled retaining wall that creating the impression of a continuous structure integrated into the landscape.
