Renovation of the fire station 1, Munich

In the center of Munich, at Sendlinger Tor, is the heart of the Munich fire department - fire station 1. It has existed since 1904 and is the oldest of the ten fire stations in Munich. It houses the agency management, the management staff and five sections of the fire department. In addition, the building complex houses various technical workshops, official apartments and a fire brigade museum. The guard, which is also based there, handles the highest number of missions in Munich.
Due to age, the structural condition and certain functional areas no longer meet the requirements of a modern fire brigade. A complete renovation of all buildings is necessary and will be implemented in accordance with the target planning decision "Feuerwachen 2020" by the city of Munich.
All of this happens during ongoing operations in three construction phases: the main fire station is responsible for the densely built-up area of Munich's city center with numerous office and commercial buildings, the clinical district of the Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich Central Station and numerous cultural assets.
